We will return to Ghost Ranch in 2020, a world-famous education and retreat center operated by the Presbyterian Church. We will spend all three nights on Pilgrimage here, taking advantage of their beautiful worship spaces and stunning vistas to sing, pray, and worship together both in the Agape Worship Center and outdoors.

Ghost Ranch to Christ In The Desert Monastery
New to the 2018 Pilgrimage was a visit to the Christ in the Desert Monastery north of Abiquiu. We again visited in 2019 and will return in 2020. This Benedictine Monastery was established in 1964 and became an autonomous abbey in 1996. The Monastery is home for several monks, who live a contemplative life; seeking holiness through a simple life, lived in community. We will walk from Ghost Ranch, up the highway to the road which eventually parallels the river, then along the beautiful Chama River Valley to the Monastery. The river valley itself has always been inspiring.

Day 2, Saturday, September 12, 2020
Ghost Ranch to Abiquiu NM
|
We will walk to the historic village of Abiquiu, NM, the home of world famous artist Georgia O'Keefe. From Ghost Ranch we will walk to the intersection of Highway 94, then shuttle to the Chama River Recreational Area below the Abiquiu Dam, and continue the walk along the Chama River, to near Bode's in Abiquiu. We will end the day sharing prayers, music and conversations with leaders and musicians from a small Sufi Community near Abiquiu. |

Day 3, Sunday, September 13, 2020
Hernandez to El Santuario de Chimayó

After two days of walking on relatively isolated roads, we will have a good public witness on our third and final day, on Highway 84/285, and thru Española. We will begin in Hernandez, NM, at the San Jose Mission, and end at El Santuario de Chimayó, a famous place of healing and one of the most visited pilgrimage locations in North America. We will end our pilgrimage with a service in the outdoor worship space. |
