We walked again to the historic village of Abiquiu, NM, the home of world famous artist Georgia O'Keefe. From Ghost Ranch we walked to the intersection of Highway 94, then shuttled to the Chama River Recreational Area below the Abiquiu Dam, and continued the walk along the Chama River, to near Bode's in Abiquiu. Here we learned about the rich history of northern New Mexico by visiting the St. Thomas the Apostle Church and visiting a local morada. |
After two days of walking on relatively isolated roads, we had a good public witness on our third and final day, on Highway 84/285, and thru Española. We began in Hernandez, NM, and ended at El Santuario de Chimayó, a famous place of healing and one of the most visited pilgrimage locations in North America. We ended our pilgrimage with a beautiful service in the outdoor worship space. |
